It's tragic news today. Veteran actor Nagaiah who has been popular as Vedam Nagaiah passed early in the morning today. He was 77 years old. He got his name for his portrayal of Ramulu in Allu Arjun, Anushka Shetty and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Vedam by Krish Jagarlamudi in 2010. Reports state that he had been battling age-related ailments for some time now. Sadly, he succumbed to the same early morning today.
Reports state that it was Krish Jagarlamudi who spotted Nagaiah in the Desavaram Peta in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Krish gave him an opportunity to act in Vedam in 2010 and he instantly impressed everyone. After Vedam, Nagaiah had starred in 30 films including Nagavalli, Seema Tapakai, Okkadine, Ayyare, Gamanam and Balupu.
Earlier, Nagaiah had opened up on being cast by Krish in Vedam. He had said, "Krish spotted me on the streets of Hyderabad and called me to his office. When I went there, he asked me to tell a dialogue which was written on a piece of paper. As soon as I narrated it, he signed me up for a role in Vedam. We shot the film for over six months and soon after its release, many other filmmakers approached with me roles."
Nagaiah played the role of a farmer in Mahesh Babu's Maharshi. His stint in the film increased his popularity in the Telugu film circle. The actor impressed everyone with every character he portrayed, however, small a role. It was reported that during the pandemic period, there wasn't any work. Due to which he was depressed and fell ill. Some of the reports also state that he lost his wife just a couple of months ago.
With no work opportunities and lack of money to lead a sustainable life, Nagaiah was pushed towards poverty. He passed away after suffering from age-related ailments today morning. May his soul rest in peace.
