Priyanka Chopra's second cousin, Meera Chopra, who has predominantly worked in the regional cinema has stated that her connection with the Bollywood actress hasn't helped her in her career. Meera made her acting debut with a Tamil film called Anbe Aaruyire. She went on to do films such as Bangaram which was her Telugu debut, Jambhavan, Lee, Marudhamlai, Vaana, Jaganmohini, and Hindi films such as Gang of Ghosts, 1920 London and section 375 to name a few. Meera Chopra has alleged that she hasn't got any work in the Hindi film industry because of her star sister, Priyanka Chopra. In fact, she said her struggles increased thereafter. Yes, you read that right.
"The only time when I came to Bollywood there was a buzz that Priyanka's sister is also coming but honestly I have not faced many comparisons. I have not got any work because of Priyanka. If I needed a producer, they have not cast me as I am her sister, Meera Chopra told Zoom. The actress further added that she feels fortunate to not getting compared with either Priyanka Chopra Jonas or Parineeti Chopra. She said, "Honestly, being related to her has not helped me in my career but it has really helped me in a way that people did take me seriously. They did not take me for granted as they knew was coming from a family who knew cinema. That is the only privilege I got. Otherwise, I had to struggle. Honestly, with my work like every time my movie used to leave fortunately I have not been compared to both of them."
Meera Chopra was recently seen in a web series called Kamathipura The Tattoo Murders in which she played the lead role. The series also stars Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anang Desai, Varun Joshi, 'Tanuj Virwani to name a few. The reportedly has Mogali Puvvu alongside Sachiin Joshi and Kainaat Arora. Meanwhile, on Priyanka Chopra's work front, the actress is busy working for Citadel, a TV shows, Matrix movie, Text For You from the Hollywood projects.
