Power star's comeback film has garnered a lot of praise from all corners and is going great guns at box office
The alleged rivalry between Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu is legendary in Tollywood. Even though the two stars never comment about each other, their fans are always at loggerheads. If you jog your memory a little, Mahesh Babu's Aagadu promos irked Power star fans, who claimed it to be a rip off of Gabbar Singh. With Mahesh Babu's Aagadu tanking at box office, all eyes were on Pawan Kalyan's Gopala Gopala.
While it is very early to talk about the fate of Gopala Gopala at box office, the first day collections of the film are out and trade pundits have started comparing Pawan's comeback flick with Mahesh Babu's Aagadu. Gopala Gopala, the remake of OMG:Oh My God!, made Rs 9.19 crore on the opening day, failing to out do Aagadu's first day collections of Rs 9.74 crore at the box office. But the record of biggest opening day grosser is still held by Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daredi.
It is interesting to note that after the opening weekend, Mahesh Babu's Aagadu bombed at the box office. Will Pawan Kalyan's Gopala Gopala share the same fate as Aagadu or will it continue to forge ahead at the box office? Only time will tell.
