After Comali, Tamil actor Jayam Ravi will next be seen in an action-thriller which will be directed by Ahmed. The shooting of the film is currently underway in Azerbaijan and few action sequences are being shot. Pan Indian actress Taapsee has been roped in for a crucial role in the film which is yet to be titled by the makers. As the shooting is underway, news has it that the film is a remake of a hit Bollywood film. Reports reveal that the film is a remake of Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby which also stars Taapsee in a key role. However, director Ahmed refutes all these reports and says the film is an original script and not a remake of any film. "This is not a remake of Baby. It's an original script that I had been working on for quite some time. I like to experiment with genres and don't want to be stuck doing the same kind of films. Ravi has both an action image and also the versatile actor tag. All I can say at this point is that it's a big-budget spy thriller, with high dose of action," Ahmed was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Ahmed has made films Vaamanan and Manithan in the past both of which have received rave reviews from audience and critics. His upcoming film is yet to be titled but news has it that the makers are have already opted for a patriotic title. Reports suggest that the film has been titled Jana Gana Mana hinting that the film would be about fight for the nation and would have some intense scenes. And since Taapsee is part of the project, audience can expect it to be high on drama and intensity.
