The Yaan actor is apparently regretting for turning down the role in Pa Ranjith's Madras
Karthi-Catherine Tresa starrer Madras, helmed by Pa Ranjith, is enjoying good success at the box office. But not many know that before Karthi stepped into the shoes of protagonist Kaali, the director had approached Jiiva to play the lead in Madras. But when the Ko actor turned down the offer, the role landed on Karthi's lap.
Now we hear that, Jiiva is upset for missing out on Madras and his regretting his decision to turn down the film. Karthi's Madras was released on September 26, 2014 and went on to mint Rs 7.1 crore in three days. While his latest release, Yaan, alongside Thulasi Nair has disappointed the fans, Jiiva has been caught ruing the missed opportunity by rejecting Madras.
Moreover Jiiva could have benefited with a hit, as he has been away from limelight for quite sometime after Endrendrum Punnagai's success last year. With Yaan's failure and Madras's success, it is only natural for the Nanban actor to go into a retrospective mode, regretting his decision to say no to Madras. As they say, 'One's loss is another's gain'. And the person to gain from Jiiva's loss is Karthi, who can't stop smiling after Madras's success.
