Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's latest release Dear Comrade has been going great guns and receiving rave reviews from all around. While the box office numbers have a different story, audience seems to be in love with this intense love story. And even before the film released, Bollywood top filmmaker Karan Johar went ahead and bought the remake rights of the film. A day before the release, Karan watched the film in Hyderabad and loved it so much that he decided to remake in Hindi himself. And the latest we hear about it is that Karan has paid a bomb for the remake rights of Dear Comrade. According to reports, Karan Johar paid Rs 6.2 crore for the remake rights of Dear Comrade since he felt the story is viable for a remake commercially. It will be interesting to see who Karan will cast in the remake and if he would himself direct it.
While that stays that way, it is being speculated that Dhadak lead pair Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor might be roped in for the remake of Dear Comrade. However, there is no official confirmation regarding that.
Dear Comrade is an intense romantic tale in which Vijay Deverakonda plays a Student Union leader while Rashmika Mandanna plays a state level cricket player. The film has been receiving mixed reviews from critics while audience is all love for it. Directed by debutante Bharat Kamma, Dear Comrade released in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam on July 26. Each language has received different response from audience.
