The film which was touted to release in September might be postponed to Gandhi Jayanti release
Kollywood seems to be plagued by delays this year. After several big films like Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyaan and Siddharth's Jigarthanda got a delayed release this year, Karthi's Madras is also expected to be postponed due to unforeseen reasons. The film directed by Ranjith starring Karthi and Catherine Tresa in lead roles, has already been postponed thrice this year.
Madras, based on lives of people living in North Chennai, was earlier scheduled to release on July 25, but was put off due to Censor Board certification issues. Later, the action flick was touted to release on last week of August. But yet again, Madras had been postponed to release at a later date in September. Now a little birdie tells us that release of Karthi starrer would be delayed again and that the movie bosses have zeroed in on October 2 as release date.
If sources are to be believed, then Karthi's Madras is set to take on Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain and Sivakarthikeyan's Taana at theatres on Gandhi Jayanti. Is it wise of the makers to clash with a big star like Kamal Haasan? Or will Madras's release be put off to a later date yet again? Stay tuned for updates on the matter.
