A few days back, Dulquer Salmaan unveiled the second look of his upcoming gangster film, Kurup as an Eid treat for fans, which became an instant hit on social media. While the fans of the handsome star are more than excited to watch this venture on the celluloid, it will definitely make you surprised to know the cost of the film. Kurup, which is bankrolled under the banner of DQ's Wayfarer Films and M-Star Entertainments, is made on the budget of Rs 35 crore, which makes this film, the most expensive venture of Dulquer Salmaan.
The production of the film took six months and it was shot at Kerala, Mumbai, Dubai, Mangalore, Mysore and Ahmedabad for 105 days. Kurup is currently in the post-production process, while the dubbing is completed. The film was supposed to release during the Eid weekend but due to coronavirus pandemic, it got delayed indefinitely. The film marks the second collaboration between Dulquer Salmaan and director Srinath Rajendran after Second Show.
Three years back, Dulquer had confirmed the project on Facebook, where he wrote, "So at long last. Nearly 6 years later I reunite with my brother Srinath Rajendran the director of my debut film Second Show for a very ambitious film. I think we've discussed this during Second Show. But I guess everything has its own time. Early 2018 we hope to go on the floors with this film. And it's something I'm super super thrilled about. Happy to share this with all of you."
