Legendary cinematographer Aloysius Vincent passes away

The Malayalam cinematographer-filmmaker died of pneumonia at the age of 86

It's a sad day for Indian cinema as veteran cinematographer, Aloysisus Vincent, who has shot Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malyalam films is no more. He breathed his last at the age of 86, suffering from pneumonia. The legendary artist was admitted at a hospital in Chennai few days back. His career spanned over nearly five decades, where not only he mastered the art of cinematography, but he also went on direct 30 films in Malayalam, one of the most popular being Bhargavi Nilayam. Not just that, he also had the opportunity to work with actors like NT Rama Rao, MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalitha, who later went on to become chief ministers in the later stages of their lives. Some of his notable works are Enga Veettu Pillai, Kadhalikka Neramillai and Bhaktha Prahlada. He also won the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography for Rajesh Khanna's Prem Nagar.
