Mahesh Babu's Maharshi is unstoppable at the box office and is shining brightly. After crossing the golden number of Rs 100 crore, Maharshi is now inching towards another landmark of Rs 150 crore. Maharshi seems to be on the way to becoming the all time highest grosser in Mahesh Babu's which is held by Bharat Ane Nenu at the present moment. On day 7, Maharshi stands at Rs 129 crore gross which includes $1.5 million from the North American markers. The makers are yet to release an official report about the collections of Maharshi but industry trackers have already termed it as a blockbuster hit. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Maharshi has Mahesh Babu playing a billionaire who returns to his roots and does many things for farming sector.
Maharshi also stars Allari Naresh in a crucial role while Pooja Hegde plays Mahesh Babu's love interest. The film has opened to a grand release and has bee receiving great response from fans of the superstar. However, a certain section of audience had a different opinion about the film and have called it a dull affair.
Speaking about the film, Mahesh Babu had said that the film has a strong message laced with commercial elements. "It's a film that has so much to offer. It has a very powerful social message that is well-laced with other commercial elements. I say it's a film unlike anything I've done so far because audiences can easily relate to my character Rishi. The journey of my character will be both interesting and inspiring," said Mahesh Babu.
