Malayalam actress Remya Suresh has lodged a complaint with the cyber cell against her morphed pornographic videos that were going viral on the internet. She took to Facebook to share the news with her fans and clarified that the woman in the alleged doctored video is not her.
"I am Ramya Suresh, I have nothing to do with the video that is spreading on the internet. Legal action has been taken regarding the same. Please don't spread it," Remya wrote on Facebook. She broke down in the Facebook video while sharing her ordeal and said that her husband stands by her during these trying times. She also added that she has got this far in the industry without making any compromises. She said that she has lodged her complaint with the Superintendent of Police in Alappuzha, and later to the cyber cell. She added that the officers were also supportive while collecting the data of WhatsApp groups and the person who shared it.
Remya got to know about the said video from one of her acquaintances who shared the content with her after they found it being circulated on social media. "To my surprise, her facial features are similar to mine. People who know me personally will know the difference if they look closely. But, others won't be able to see that difference and I fear for it," she said.
She further added, "I know I am not the person in the video. My husband stands by me, which gives me courage. The police officers were supportive and promised to do everything to help me. They have gathered information about the person who circulated the video. When I returned home from the police station, I was confident. But now, I have been getting so many messages on my Facebook page. What will I tell my friends when they call me after watching the video? I have reached this stage only because I did not make any compromises. Please don't think of me like that and message me."
Remya was last seen in Nayanthara and Kunchacko Boban's Nizhal.
