Last night, reports floated in on how renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam was admitted to Chennai's Apollo Hospital due to cardiac issues. He has had a history of heart problems. Now, it seems like he has been discharged from the hospital and is back to work. A Twitter user Nikkil Murugan informed fans that all was well with him. It was apparently just a routine check-up. We are sure this news will come as a breather for all his concerned fans. Mani suffered his first attack in 2004 on the sets of Yuva. Since then, he has been taking a lot of care. In 2015, he was admitted after he complained of chest pain. However, his family refused to disclose that if it was a heart attack or not. In 2018, he was rushed to Delhi from a vacation in Srinagar as he was feeling unwell. However, he got discharged early.
On the professional front, he is busy with his film Ponniyin Selvan. It is based on the life of the king Raja Raja Cholan. The film is based on the novel by Amarar Kalki. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has confirmed that she is collaborating with him for their fourth film together. The film will also have big names like Chiyaan Vikram, Jayaram Ravi, Amitabh Bachchan and Amala Paul if reports are to go by. Ponniyin Selvan has also attracted the attention of Anushka Shetty. The actress might play a huge role in the film. The film ran into a bit of trouble as Lyca Productions back out from the project.
