Tamil flick Thillu Mullu was one of the cult hits of Superstar Rajinikanth
Directed by Superstar's mentor K Balachander, the film established that Rajini was not just an action hero, but could excel at comedy as well.Now, the 80s classic is being remade by director Badri, with Mirchi Shiva in the lead role. Since the film is going on the floors today (August 24), Badri and Shiva called on Rajini, Balachander and Kamal Haasan (who did a cameo in Thillu Mullu) and sought their blessings. Says Shiva, “It was a nice experience to meet the three biggest icons of Tamil cinema. With their blessings, we are starting the Thillu Mullu remake. The title may be Thillu Mullu, but we will put in honest efforts.” The veteran actors and director bestowed their blessings to Shiva who will be romancing Isha Talwar in the film. The movie also has comic baddie Prakash Raj, Kovai Sarala, Sathyan, Ilavarasu, and Manobala in pivotal roles.
