The giant production company Lyca Productions, which is known for bankrolling films like Darbar, 2.0, Indian 2 and others, has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of SS Rajamouli's pan-India project RRR, which is made on the massive budget of Rs 400 crore. Sharing the news, the production company wrote on Twitter, "We are delighted and proud to announce The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of THE BIGGEST PAN INDIA FILM #RRRMovie is acquired by us...."
In the motion poster of the film, we saw Ram Charan as the element of fire and Jr. NTR as water. When asked about this, SS Rajamouli replied, "Fire and Water are the two opposing elements. One can destroy the other. But if they come together and create steam, the force generated can run the motor of the world." The filmmaker hinted that they come together against the Britishers. The director also said that since the duo are good friends it was easy for him to bring them on board. "They didn't even take a minute to say yes," revealed the filmmaker.
The magnum opus has already started setting benchmarks as it broke the pre-release business of India's biggest blockbuster, Baahubali 2 (also directed by SS Rajamouli) by a huge margin. All the rights of the film have been bought at record prices and reports suggest that it has already earned over Rs. 400 crore from South India and overseas markets alone. Produced by DVV entertainment, the film stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Sharan in key roles. The film is set to hit the screens on October 13 at the box office. So, are you excited for this pan-India venture? Tweet and let us know @bollywood_life.
