After making an impressive debut with Irudhi Suttru, Ritika Singh has been a busy bee with multiple projects in Tamil and Telugu cinema. Ritika will next be seen in a Tamil film about the much spoken about #MeToo movement. The makers have titled the film as Me Too and Ritika will be seen playing a college-going young girl who is a victim of sexual harassment. Me Too is directed by a debutante filmmaker from the US Harsha Wardhan and the shooting of the film has been wrapped up, reportedly. However, the film may not be released because of censor issues. According to a report in Indiaglitz, the censor board has raised objections on several dialogues in the film. After making changes to them, the makers have resubmitted the project for censor certification but this time the board has objected to the title itself. And this is making us wonder if the film will ever make it to the theatres at all.
#MeToo has been one of the most awakening movements in India and brought many faces to the forefront, shocking the nation. From media to films to the music industry, many women opened up about their traumatic experiences and called out those who were responsible for it. Film celebrities like Sajid Khan, Tamil lyricist Vairamuthu, actor Nana Patekar and many others were some of the names in the long list of alleged harassers.
