The TFPC (Tamil Film Producers Council) has found itself in troubled waters after Tamil Nadu government appointed an officer to look after the affairs of the association. President Vishal has been facing the wrath of many members and it has also been alleged that the actor-producer has been misusing funds in the council. And according to latest developments, Vishal has alleged that another Tamil film-related body is misusing funds. Nadigar Sangam, Tamil actors’ association former chiefs Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi may face legal action for misappropriation of funds. Vishal, who is the secretary of this body, has alleged that a property, belonging to Nadigar Sangam, was sold by Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi and the funds were misused by the them. It is also being reported that Chennai police officials may file a complaint against the two.
The Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) has been going through rough patch with many members locking horns with President Vishal. The opposing members want Vishal to step down from the highest position and are keen on re-elections. And in an attempt to resolve the issue, the government of Tamil Nadu has intervened and appointed an officer, in charge of the Council going forward. N Sekhar, District Registrar, has been appointed as the officer of the TFPC to take over the office till the time the issues are resolved. Sekhar was the same officer who was a member of the committee which investigated the irregularities in TFPC and submitted a report to the government. Reportedly, Sekhar will be in the position for one year and will be the decision maker for all activities related to the council.
