Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab has turned out to be a money-spinner at the box office. Despite the COVID-19 crisis, the courtroom drama has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in its first week at the domestic market. Apart from audience, we saw celebs like Mahesh Babu and Chiranjeevi praising the film and now the retired judge of Supreme Court, Venkate Gopala Gowda has showered his appreciation for this venture and lauded its content.
In a statement, he said, "Usually, films tell the story of an individual, a family or have the backdrop of an Itihasam or a fictional story. 'Devadas' brought out the relationship between a man and his muse. And 'Vakeel Saab' stands out because it talks about the struggles faced regularly by ordinary women who belong to the middle class. Pawan Kalyan's performance as a lawyer crusading for the rights of women is superlative." He further said that Vakeel Saab deserves all the accolades, which it is getting from all around the corners.
Released on April 9, Vakeel Saab marked the comeback of Pawan Kalyan on the silver screen after three years. The film also features Prakash Raj, Shruti Haasan, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, Mukesh Rishi, Dev Gill, Subbaraju, Vamsi Krishna and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. It is directed by Sriram Venu of MCA (Middle Class Abbayi) fame and jointly produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor under Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bay View Projects LLP.
