Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam had been rushed to hospital after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. The actor had taken to his social media handle and assured his fans that he has been doing well and asked them not to worry. Just yesterday, reports of the singer being kept on a ventilator and was surviving on life support surfaced. SP Balasubrahmanyam is known for lending his voice to several stars not only in the South industry but also in the Hindi film industry. He has a massive fan following even in the industry. Oscar-winner musician AR Rahman took to his Twitter handle and asked people to pray for the singer's health. "I request all the music fans to pray for this legend along with me ..#SPBalasubrahmanyam ..he has given us so much joy with his amazing voice!" the music maestro had tweeted out. Music maestro Illayaraja recorded a video in which he asked his dear friend to come back hale and hearty. "Balu. Come back fast. I am waiting for you. Our lives are not just about cinema. They did not begin in Cinema, either. At stage concerts in far off places, we got together for music, which became the purpose of lives. Just like how music can be removed from the Swaras, our friendship will never die out..." he said (a rough translation of his recorded video message). Dhanush shared the video on his social media handle. This message is extra special as they had had a major fallout in 2017. They had patched things up at Illayaraja's 75th birthday. On Friday, MGM Healthcare, where the veteran singer is hospitalised released a statement saying, "In a late night development on 13th August 2020, his condition had deteriorated and based on the advice of the expert medical team attending to him, he has been moved to the intensive Care Unit and he is on life support and his condition remains critical."
