Jai-Nazriya starrer has failed to impress the viewers
With two big film's Siddharth's Jigarthanda and Karthi's Madras out of the way, the stage was set for Aascar Ravichandran's Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah to cash in big time at box office. But seems like lack of top stars and film's jaded publicity has hampered the film's stake at the box office.
The inter religion love story went off to a slow start with only 50% occupancy at the theatres. And those who have watched the film do not seem to have great things to say about it. Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah has received flak from critics and masses alike as the film failed to impress the audience. Both Jai and Nazriya who were riding on previous successes of Vadacurry and Raja Rani respectively, were expected to give the film much needed star power. Judging by the average turn around at cinemas, one can say Jai-Nazriya's star power has failed to work magic.
With word of mouth negative reviews, the film's performance is expected to go further down. While the biggest beneficiary of Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah's failure is Dhanush's VIP, which is running housefull as it enters it's second week today. With no real competition at box office, it is an opportunity lost for Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah.
