Tamil hit film Jigarthanda starring Siddharth and Bobby Simha is being remade in Telugu with Varun Tej in the lead role. To be directed by Harish Shankar, the film has been titled Valmiki and was officially announced a month ago. The shooting of the film began today in Hyderabad and actor Varun Tej began canning his scenes. A picture of Varun Tej with director Harish Shankar is going viral on social media and fans cannot contain their excitement. Reportedly, Varun Tej has bulked up for his role in the film and the actor has bee working out rigorously for it. Varun has been posting pictures and videos on his Instagram page which show the kind of physique he is building for his role in the film. Varun will be seen reprising the role played by Siddharth in the original. It is yet to be officially confirmed by the makers who would be seen playing the gangster played by Bobby Simha in the original.
Varun Tej will also be seen in an untitled film which will have him playing a boxer. The actor has also been preparing for this role and bulking up his body. Reportedly, the actor will be seen sporting a huge physique in this yet to be confirmed film which is in the pipeline.
Varun was last seen in F2: Fun & Frustration which was a multi-starrer alongside Venkatesh Daggubati. The film turned out to be a huge hit in his career and made him one of the most sought-after actors in Tollywood. Varun attempted the comedy genre for the first time in his career with F2 which yielded great results for him. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, F2 also starred Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Pirzada.
