Tollywood superstar Varun Tej narrowly escaped from a car accident as his Mercedez Benz rammed into a Tata Indicaa at Rayanipeta in Wanaparthy district on Wednesday night. Four people in the Tata Indica suffered minor injuries while the Tollywood star escaped unhurt from the accident. The 29-year-old star shared the news on his Twitter account and wrote, "Got into a car accident and thankfully everybody is safe and sound. No injuries whatsoever. Thanks for the concern and your love!??".
“At Rayanipeta on the highway, Varun’s car crashed into the Indica from behind. The driver of the Indica vehicle turned left to go towards Rayanipeta village and the Benz car driver could not slow down the vehicle in time due to speeding. Four persons in the Indica suffered minor injuries and we booked a case against Varun Tej’s driver Anil under Section 337 of the IPC. After the accident, the actor and his friends left in another car. The driver is in our custody,” Kothakota police said to Times of India.
Varun Tej will be next seen in Valmiki, which is the remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda. It is directed by Harish Shankar who has made films like Gabbar Singh and Duvvada Jagannadham. The film is being produced by Ram and Gopi Achanta under the banner 14 Reels Entertainment. Speaking about the film, producers say that they changed the script to suit the audience in Telugu states. "But we have made several changes to the script to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. The writing and screenplay is very sharp and will give a new high to the audience. Also, Varun Tej will be sporting a new look for the film," the producers told Deccan Chronicle.
