The veteran actor passed away on July 21, 2001 at the age of 72
Even before Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, Tamil cinema was ruled by two superstars - MG Ramachandran aka MGR and Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan. On the 13th death anniversary of the later, his grandson actor Vikram Prabhu remembers the late legend Sivaji Ganesan.
The young star basking in success of his film Arima Nambi missed his grandfather and tweeted," 13yrs since Thatha left us.Missing more as the years add up. #GreatestActorEver #Grandfather #HisGodlyPresenceRemains".
Sivaji had acted in more than 300 films in his five decade long career and had been an inspiration for many superstars of Tamil cinema to take up acting. He was known for his terrific performances in films like Paraasakthi, Karnan, Navarathri, Thillaanaa Mohanambal and many more.
Superstars like Rajini and Kamal revered the veteran actor and considered him as their guru. After his son Prabhu, now that his grandson Vikram Prabhu is gaining foothold in Kollywood, we hope that Sivaji Ganesan's legacy continues.
