After opening to a grand release, Mahesh Babu-starrer is now marred with a controversy which no one would have expected it to come up. According to latest reports, popular director Sriwaas has claimed that a plot line in Maharshi was visualised by him few years ago and was surprised to see that being a part of this Mahesh Babu-starrer. Sriwaas claimed that he had imagined a plot line, which wasn't revealed by him, which was now used in Maharshi. However, the controversy has not turned into a bitter one because the director met producer Dil Raju and reached to an amicable solution. Reportedly, Sriwas is close to producer Raju and the latter gave him a verbal assurance that his next film will be bankrolled by him.
"Sriwass was shocked when he came to know that a plotline that he had earlier imagined, had reportedly been included in the premise of Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi. He met Dil Raju, who seemed surprised with the contention and acknowledged that the plotline of Maharshi is similar to that of the premise from Sriwass' story," a source was quoted as saying by Cinema Xpress.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Maharshi is about a billionaire who returns to his roots and realises the importance of agrarian society. Mahesh Babu, playing Rishi, is receiving great appreciation from all around. Maharshi has turned out to be the biggest ever opening in his career after earning a gross collection of Rs 28 crore in the Telugu states.
Speaking about Maharshi, Mahesh Babu had recently said, "It's a film that has so much to offer. It has a very powerful social message that is well-laced with other commercial elements. I say it's a film unlike anything I've done so far because audiences can easily relate to my character Rishi. The journey of my character will be both interesting and inspiring."
