Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian award in India, and recently the names of Padma Shri Awards were announced which included TV actress Sarita Joshi. Baa Bahoo Aur Baby has been conferred with this prestigious award. The actress had impressed fans with her performances in many TV shows like Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, Bh Se Bhade and others. Not just the small screen, the actress has also spread her magic on the big screen as well with Nazar, Darna Zaroori Hai, Dasvidaniya, Singham Returns, and Simmba. In an interaction with the Press Trust Of India, Sarita Joshi said, " I am very happy and humbled with this honour. I am working from an early age, I have never worked for awards, for me work is worship. I have always worked from heart and given my best in whatever I have done. I will be known as Padma Shri Sarita Joshi, this is such a big honour. I am happy as my children are happy."

Talking about Sarita Joshi, the 78-yea-old actress, she started her journey with Gujarati and Marathi theatre as a child artiste. She came into the Telly world with Titliyaan in 1980s. She was also bestowed with the Sangeet Natak Akademi award for acting in Gujarati in 1988. Apart from Sarita Joshi, Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, Kangana Ranaut, Adnan Sami have also been honoured with the Padma Shri award. The Padma Shri for this year has been awarded to a total of 118 eminent personalities across fields of art, literature and education, medicine, trade and industry, sports, public affairs, social work and science and engineering.
