Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actress Shubhangi Atre aka Angoori bhabhi had recently tested positive for coronavirus. In an interview with ETimes, Shubhangi Atre revealed that the initial 4-5 days were quite difficult because of fever, fatigue, and no desire to even move. Her brother-in-law is a doctor so medication started early. She also shared that until last year she didn’t take COVID seriously until now that she has got it. She also said that the second wave is highly contagious and she has no idea where she contracted it from because she took all precautions. She added, "People still don’t understand importance of wearing mask, following govt guidelines. I still see people socialising secretly. They don’t follow protocol and then blame the govt. Even within the industry there are people who dismiss the pandemic as something trivial."
Shubhangi Atre's show Kasturi completed 14 years recently and the actress said that during her quarantine period she watch all the episodes of the show. She was also asked if Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain team shift outside Maharashtra for the show. The actress said that the decision will be taken post May 1. She was also asked how did the show sustain comic timing for so long without monotony. She said, "That’s because the characters are relatable and not caricature-ish. I hail from Madhya Pradesh and I have seen such people in real. But despite the five years we have never felt monotony. Till we have the energy between actors, we can sustain its success. Though to reinvent new stories within six characters is not a joke."
She also made revealations about being approached for Bigg Boss 15 and Nach Baliye 10. Shubhangi Atre said, "I was offered ‘Nach Baliye’ again this year like last year. They wanted me to participate with my husband Peeyush Poorey and we had started practicing also but we got COVID. Now I am not sure if the show is happening this year. While I am a classical dancer, apne husband ko mujhe kafi nachana padega (laughs). In fact, I got a call for ‘Bigg Boss’ too. Though it’s a good show, I am not sure about it. I am very non-controversial but the show’s format can be abusive sometimes. My daughter is 15, I don't want to set a wrong example for her."
