Choti Sarrdaarni has been performing well on the small screen. The TRPs of the show have also been good. Avinesh Rekhi and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia have impressed us all with their crackling chemistry. The show has been in the news recently as there have been reports that the lead actress Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia will be leaving the show and Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki actress Kratika Sengar will be replacing her. Kratika will be seen on the small screen after almost 3 years. However, as per reports in ETimes, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia has just taken a break due to health issues. The source close to the development told ETimes, "Nimrit had to take a break due to some health issues. She is very much a part of the show and we will try to accommodate her via phone calls. We needed a popular face for an upcoming track and that’s how Kratika came into the picture. We don’t know how long the cameo would last. We will plan the future track once Nimrit recovers and resumes shooting." Now, even Kratika Sengar has revealed that she is not replacing Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia but will be playing a new character. In an interview with ETimes, he said, "I am not replacing Nimrit, but playing a new character. I wouldn’t have taken up the offer had they approached me to replace the original protagonist. She has played the character so beautifully that I wouldn’t want to step into her shoes." Kratika Sengar had taken a break from television after hee show, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki ended in 2018. She said, "I wanted to take a break after the show wrapped up. I couldn’t take up anything in 2019 due to a personal crisis. I needed to be with my family. And by the time things became fine, the lockdown was implemented." Kratika also spoke about pregnancy rumours and her thoughts on motherhood. She said, "It used to bother me earlier, but not anymore. I recently posted pictures from my break in the Maldives after I received my license and certificate for underwater diving. Even after that, I was deluged with calls from people inquiring whether I was pregnant. If I was expecting a baby, how will my doctor allow me to go underwater? To be honest, I don’t think I am mentally ready for it yet. People from our generation want to be prepared for every little thing."
