Ishqbaaaz starring Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna became an instant hit amongst the audience. When Surbhi left the show, her fans requested the makers to bring the actress back on the show but their efforts went in vain. Post the generation leap in the story, everyone from the original cast except Nakuul Mehta bid adieu to the show. The show continued to enjoy a good run but now the makers have decided to pull the plug. Putting an end to the speculations, producer Gul Khan confirmed that Ishqbaaaz will be going off-air by March 15.
In conversation with IMWbuzz, Gul confirmed the news saying, "We created a show where three boys became the iconic poster! In a bahu driven industry, Ishqbaaaz was a breakaway visual! Also, we were the first in India to introduce a spin-off. Writing has been IB’s key strength. IB has gone where TV show goes, tackling contemporary issues, like why ‘beta’ is called a ‘Hira’, Mera beta Hira Hai!!, and why we don’t accept that everybody has exes. We very tactfully discussed ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends. We also talked about why mothers have to give up their careers and not fathers."
Khan went on to mention that she managed to break a lot of stereotypes and presented the things that one wouldn't watch on other daily soaps. On a parting note, Gul said that Ishqbaaaz was a wonderful ride. However, this news will come as a disappointment to the ones who were following Ishqbaaaz religiously. But we are sure Nakuul and the rest of the star cast will continue to win everyone's hearts with their upcoming projects.
