Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Deepika Singh can breathe a sigh of relief as her mother was admitted to a Delhi hospital. She was tested positive for Coronavirus. She took to social media to express her gratitude to the Delhi government. "Thank you to Delhi Govt and health minister for the immediate response to my tweet and video. Finally my mother got admission in Sir Gangaram hospital. Hoping for her speedy recovery," her post read.
She had earlier shared a video in which she spoke at length about how her 59-year-old mother was tested positive but was unable to find a bed. She also tagged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help her.
“My mom has been diagnosed with Covid positive. My mom & dad are in Delhi. The test has been done in Lady Hardinge hospital & they didn’t give reports. They only allowed my father to click its picture. I really hope the concerned personnel are reading this and my mom there receives some relief. We need your help," Singh captioned the video on Instagram.
She said in the video, “My mother has never felt so weak in her life. Even my grandmother has breathing issues. There are 45 people in the house, and now everyone is at risk. My mother had not even stepped out and so we don’t even know how she got infected. We need to get everyone’s test done,"
She added, "Also, everyone is telling her that she should isolate herself at home. But what about the medicines and other care elements. We have no clue what to do.”
In May 2014, Deepika Singh got married to Rohit Raj Goyal, the director of Diya Aur Baati Hum. She has been a part of shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji and played the female lead in Kavach... Maha Shivratri.
