Popular TV actress Donal Bisht, who has worked in serials like Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop, Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji, Laal Ishq and others, recently opened up on her journey of 5 years in the TV industry. Talking to Mumbai Mirror, she said, “It has been beautiful! Television is a wonderful medium and I’ve been so lucky when it comes to being loved on TV. But it was not as easy for me as it seems to be. I used to complete my work in Delhi in half the time and then come to Mumbai to give around five to six auditions daily. This was my routine for about half a year. After that, I got a break with Balaji’s Kalash. So my journey finally started from there, and there has been no looking back ever since.”
Speaking about her childhood and early phase of her career, she asserted, “In my childhood,I used to watch films and mimic the heroines and their dance steps and dialogues. As I grew up, I studied journalism, but at a place which was mainly a film institute. Even there, my seniors used to call me to be a part of short films, plays, music videos and other projects. People used to tell me that I’ll become a good actress one day but, I was like ‘No no! I want to be a journalist.” Donal Bisht added, "I realised that this is not something that I want to do all my life. I want to be in front of the camera, but in a different way. I used to cry in my studio or whenever I was at my desk thinking what am I doing with my life."
Sharing one shocking incident during struggling phase, Donal Bisht asserted, “There was this one time when I was selected for a show, the money was finalised, the dates were given, but then I was dropped out of the project suddenly, citing that the channel wanted another actress. At that time, my family and I were convinced that the entire industry was fake and that people in Mumbai only lie. But then, my hunger for acting couldn't keep me away from the auditions for long. It led to another incident when a filmmaker, who was apparently from the south film industry, asked me to sleep with him for a role. I immediately filed a police complaint against the person because I worship my work. Even though the struggle will be a bit more, I was sure that I'll only make my way into the industry in the right way,”
