Yes, the actor along with 3 other members of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have tested positive for coronavirus. 110 people underwent the RT-PCR test on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on April 9 and four of them tested positive. In a chat with Saas, Bahu Aur Betiyaan, producer Asit Kumarr Modi about crew members testing positive for COVID-19 and how the 15-day lockdown in Maharashtra will affect the show.
He said, "We had not thought of any possibility of going out for the shoot because the guidelines that came out 3-4 days ago didn't mention a ban on shooting. According to those guidelines we had to take everyone's RT-PCR tests on the set. So, we got everyone tested and four people tested Covid-positive. But we had already home-quarantined them because while taking the test they were showing some symptoms. We got everyone tested on Friday, April 9. We have been taking precautions during the shoot. If anyone was a little sick, we would ask them not to come to the shoot. Kush Shah, who plays Goli on the show and some production people, are positive. There is no one positive in the main cast. All those who are positive are also home quarantine and everyone else is safe." Asit Kumarr Modi also spoke about the ban on shoots. He said that earlier if the covid test comes negative people were allowed to shoot but now the shoots have stopped for 15 days. He said that he thought if they were allowed to shoot then they can entertain people and keep them away from stress.
However, he said he does agree with the Government. Asit Kumarr Modi also shared if they would go outside Maharashtra to shoot. He shared that they haven't thought about it and will have to ask the team.
