Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki actress Rubina Dilaik has always been a nature lover and more of an outdoor person and someone whose connection with the environment is more on an emotional level.
On World Environment Day today, Rubina shares her thoughts on the initiatives she feels can be taken to make our environment and surroundings a cleaner and healthier space to live in. "Over the years our environment has faced a lot of damage on both the internal and external fronts due to which all of us have borne the brunt. So I feel that it's time to bring about a change that can heal the environment and in turn keep us safe and healthy. These changes don't have to be very big ones, but we can start with the basics, start with maybe eliminating certain things from our daily lives which are harmful to the environment and incorporating certain things into our routines which can be helpful for the environment", says Rubina.
"Discarding any use of one-time plastic is, definitely, a plus point in recent times. By carrying our water bottles from home instead of buying plastic water bottles from outside, we can really, help make a difference in curbing plastic usage which has currently been a matter of concern. Growing herbs and vegetables like tulsi, aloe vera, pudina and so much more at home itself will enable us to eat pesticide-free produce which is fresh and healthy for our bodies. Growing these veggies and herbs don't take up much energy and time and are infact a great way of learning to grow what you will eventually eat. Even a small gesture like maybe cleaning up the extra garbage at the park or garden that you visit once in a while can help keep the place a more-cleaner one for people who visit and it's another lovely way of connecting oneself with nature. These changes might initially seem like a challenge, but the positive results they will sow is what is going to eventually help our environment regain its beauty and charm", concludes Rubina.
