Last year Janhvi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with the Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Marathi film Sairat. The Nagraj Manjule-directorial was not only the biggest hit from the Marathi cinema but it also became a craze nationwide. It featured fresh faces Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, and the former also received a Special Mention at the 63rd National Film Award. Thereafter, its Bollywood remake Dhadak became a commercial success. And now BollywoodLife has learnt that the movie is now set to be remade on the idiot box. Yes, you read it right. A source suggests that a TV show is in the making that is on the lines of the movie. Currently untitled, the show will be aired on &TV. "The talks are on and the channel has given the show green signal," the source confirms. Currently, the show is in its initial stages and the casting is underway. "The makers are planning to rope in all fresh faces for the show," the insider added. Rajesh Ram Singh who has directed several TV shows including Zee TV's extremely popular Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo will be bankrolling this project. His production house Cockcrow Films will collaborate with Pradeep Kumar's Shaika Entertainment, which is already helming &TVs popular anthology series Laal Ishq. Kumar made his debut into production with the popular show Meri Durga. Despite repeated attempts, we couldn't connect with the producers. Interestingly, this will be the first televised adaption of the 2016 film. Sairat was remade in several languages apart from Shashank Khaitan's directorial in Hindi. In Bengali, it was remade as Noor Jahaan (2018), Manasu Malligey (2017) in Kannada, Laila O Laila (2017) in Odia and Channa Mereya (2017) in Punjabi.
