Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya is currently the reigning show of telly town. After being back to back on the top spot for weeks, the daily soap is set for its biggest track. The current episode revolves around the show's protagonist Preeta (Shraddha Arya)'s wedding sequence. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, the show's lead girl Shraddha spoke at length about the upcoming track, her character Preeta and her scintillating Instagram profile. "People often used to complain that Kundali (Bhagya) is going very slow and now suddenly it has paced up. A lot of things are happening very quickly," an elated Shraddha claimed, "Everyone will find out what will happen between Preeta and Karan. So this track is very important for the show. And we were pretty kicked about it while shooting."
The show has been topping the charts consistently, however, Shraddha is quite nonchalant about the show's success. "When I give my hundred percent it doesn't matter whether the show is going top or zero. I know that I've given my best, that primarily matters the most. Results are secondary," Shraddha shared.
While the daily soap has been applauded by the masses, it is also been slammed by a few. The recent storyline received much flak and many called Preeta, a character that has no self-respect. Point this out to the actress, and Arya shares the perspective of her on-screen persona. "I think Preeta is a real character. If you start idolizing her, you'll find a lot of mistakes in her. You cannot keep her at a pedestal and then look up to her," she defends. Sharing analogies the actress further added, "If you look at yourself and you love someone, irrespective of how much they curse you, you will go back to that person. That doesn't make you good or bad, it is just humane. And Preeta is just another human. She does have a lot of self-respect."
As the discussion about Preeta's self-respect proceeded, we asked Shraddha, if she is similar to her alter ego when it comes to her amour propre. "Even I'm like that. I might get angry about something if I feel it has hit my self-respect. But then I also analyse that if the person has said this to me, then he has also loved me a lot (at various junctures) and I should give it a shot," the actress said.
On the contention of self-regard in a relationship, Shraddha put her point. "Self respect matters," she said, "But people misuse it easily. Mostly what you think is your self-respect is your ego. Till then time it is ego, I do not let it affect the relationship."
We couldn't end the conversation with Shraddha without asking her about her free-spirited presence on social media. Arya, unlike other TV actresses, has no qualms in sharing pictures wherein she is donning a bikini. On this, she said, "I only think how I can entertain people on Instagram. There are millions of people who follow me and they follow me for a reason They either want to feel happy, motivated or inspired; they expect something out of it. (So) I feel responsible towards them. So I make sure that every picture is special."
