Karan Singh Grover has officially joined the star cast of Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. His first look as Mr Bajaj was revealed yesterday and we couldn't take our eyes off his salt-n-pepper look. KSG is too handsome to play an old character but he sure knows how to pull it off like a pro. Karan has been a part of successful shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Qubool Hai among others. And with Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, he is all set to take his acting game, a notch higher. Karan is reprising the role of Mr Rishabh Bajaj in Ekta's show's remake, which was essayed by Ronit Roy in the original part.
When an entertainment portal, Spotboye, reached out to Ronit Roy for his reaction, the evergreen actor was all praise for Karan as he said, "I’m very happy for Karan bagging the role of Bajaj. I think he’ll do a great job. My good wishes are with him. May he and kzk2 attain much greater heights of popularity than I did. He’s a seasoned actor and doesn’t need my advice. All I can say is, be cool."
Ronit Roy was clearly happy with Ekta Kapoor's choice of having Karan Singh Grover as Bajaj in the reboot version of KZK. Yesterday, hours after Karan's first look was revealed, BollywoodLife sat down with the talented actor for a tête-à-tête and the actor was really happy to know what Ronit Roy thought of him reprising his iconic role in Kasautii.
We informed Karan about all the praises Ronit showered on him and the actor had a huge smile on his face. When asked how does he feel about stepping into Roy's shoes to play Mr Bajaj, Karan said, "I don't think anyone can step into his shoes. He has done that role with such class and magnificence that I don't think me or any other actor can reach up to his level. We have our own little shoes that we bring to the table. And I am just happy that I am doing the same role that he did. I feel really good and happy that he said he's glad about me reprising his role."
Later, when we asked if Karan had personally heard from the OG Bajaj, the actor added, "No, I haven't. But I am sure we will meet soon and I am going to give him a big tight hug. I am just happy to be a part of something that is big." And we are hoping that day comes soon, Karan! We wish to see the old and new Mr Bajaj in the same frame very soon.
