After waiting for almost a year after her maternity break, the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah announced that they're looking for a replacement for Disha Vakani. The actress is a household name as Dayaben. It seems they had given her a month's time to reconsider but she did not revert. He told Indian Express, "We have given Disha leave and now we cannot wait more so will have to start looking for a new Dayaben. We will have to replace her, for the audience who have waiting for Daya's return." While names like Giaa Manek and Rashami Desai were doing the rounds to be the new Dayaben, the name of Papad Pol actress also surfaced. BollywoodLife got in touch with producer Asit Kumarr Modi who said, "We have not finalised anyone so far. The hunt is still on for a suitable actress."
When Times Of India got in touch with Ami, she told the publication, "No, I have not been approached, but my friends have been telling me that I should take up the role and would suit the character. I have not been offered the role, nor the makers have tried to reach me out." Well, this means that people are still far away from zeroing down on the new Dayaben.
While everyone hoped that Disha Vakani would make a comeback soon it did not happen. Stories floated on how her husband was demanding a hike of 200 per cent. There were tales of how she put a clause that she would work for only four-five hours for 15 days a month. Stay tuned to BL for more updates!
