Ever since Gregor Clegane turned into The Mountain, his face has been under the helmet since he was brought back from the dead as a by Qyburn in season 5. In today's episode of game of Thrones 8, the Clegane brothers had a fight and The Hound aka Sandor Clegane succeeded in knocking down his brother’s helmet off. What followed the unveiling of the gross face underneath is something nobody saw coming. GoT enthusiasts could not help but point out The Mountain’s striking similarity to Darth Vader from the 1983 movie Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. In fact, both The Mountain and Darth Vader had their epic moments of the mask coming off. The mighty brothers had a fight which fans termed as Clegane Bowl. As
King’s Landing was being destroyed around them, the Clegane brothers fought their own battle. When Hound's repeated stabs could not kill The Mountain, he jumped down the castle tower right into the flames underneath dragging his brother along.
Soon after the episode was aired on,
Game of Thrones enthusiasts flooded Twitter with posts on Mountain's Darth Vader moment and also cheered for the Clegane Bowl.
It was recently announced that the new series of Star Wars films will be made by the team behind Game of Thrones. Little did we know that the makers will actually tease us in such a way in Game of Thrones.
Meanwhile, the trailer of Game of Thrones finale has been released. In the trailer we see, Daenerys Targaryen walking towards her army of the Unsullied and the Dothrakis. The final episode of Game of Thrones will air on May 20 and will be 80 minutes long. Series creators David Benioff and DB Weiss have written and directed the final installment, making it the only episode of the show’s final season they stepped behind the camera for. Both Benioff and Weiss had told Entertainment Weekly earlier that it would be impossible to please every fan with the show's ending, which is one reason they won't be online when the last 80 minutes will be aired.
