BollywoodLife has been at the forefront while reporting about Colors' upcoming show. We were the first to break the news that Laila Majnu actor Abrar Qazi would be making his TV debut. On the other hand, India's Next Superstar finalist Shruti Sharma was roped in to play the female lead, which was also reported by us. And now the first look of the show has been revealed. Titled Gathbandhan, the series revolves around a don, who hails from Dombivli, and an IAS aspirant who hails from Gujrat. Their cat-and-mouse chase of a love story becomes the crux of the story.
Abrar makes a striking appearance in the promo. From what we see, he looks like a man with a strong screen presence, especially the scenes where he whistles and the train returns. On the other hand, Shruti looks like an impactful actor. However, her uncanny resemblance with TV actress Helly Shah might be either a boon or curse for her. Indeed a smart casting move by casting director Dhananjay Pandey. Showrunner Kinnari Mehta needs double the appreciation. Although the story is quite run-of-the-mill, the treatment looks quite refreshing.
Here take a look at the promo...

The show is rumoured to replace the ongoing season 12 of Bigg Boss. Along with Kesari Nandini, the daily soap will take the time slot of the reality series. Mehta's show looks like the underdog of the year. Let's wait and watch. What did you think of the promo? Let us know by tweeting to us @bollywood_life.
