Indian Idol 12 has been in the news since a long time. A lot of controversies happened this season and it looked more of a reality show like Bigg Boss. The Amit Kumar episode has been the most talked about and garnered a lot of negativity for Indian Idol 12. Post Amit Kumar's visit on the show, the singer said he was told to praise the participants by the makers irrespective of his opinion. Later, host Aditya Narayan defended the show and also took a sly dig at Amit Kumar in the latest episode of Indian Idol 12. Now, once again Aditya Narayan has defended Indian Idol 12. In an interview with ETimes, Aditya Narayan was asked about the criticism against the said Indian Idol 12 episode.
He said that people only complain about those who are successful and are in news and that this particular season has been extremely successful. He also shared that art is subjective, and all the reality shows including Indian Idol are full of potential art makers. Aditya explains that they are only trying to honour music and musicians. He also said that majority of the audience love the show. He feels that they can't please everybody, and that's not their aim. He said that their content is for those who watch television and not for social media.
Aditya Narayan also said that the Kishore Kumar episode rated well and that they were not competing against Kishore Kumar but celebrating him. He said, "I believe we should respect everybody’s opinion but focus on putting on a good show and by the way the Kishore Kumar episode rated very well. And mind you we are not competing with Kishore Kumar. We are celebrating Kishore Kumar. Haven’t you seen at music lovers’ after-party the kind of people singing Kishore Kumar songs? So, that’s it."
