Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs case. They were sent to judicial custody till December 4 by a magistrate court on Sunday after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 86.5 gms of ganja (Cannabis) at their production office and residence. The NCB in a press release had revealed that Bharti and Haarsh accepted the consumption of ganja. This left the industry in shock. Veteran actor Johnny Lever has now reacted to Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's arrest. In an interview with the Times Of India, he spoke about how drugs affects creativity. He said, "Drugs is becoming a trend like alcohol used to be back in days. Alcohol used to be easily available and a lot of parties used to happen and even I have made the mistake of drinking but then when I realised alcohol is not good as it is affecting my talent and creativity and I quit."
"But consumption of drugs by this generation of creative people is crossing limits. And if you get caught indulging in it imagine what will your family go through and those who are watching your story on news channels and are consuming even lethal drugs must be going through....and if this trend of drug indulgence continues... hamari industry kharab ho jaayegi, "he added. Johnny Lever advised Bharti and Haarsh to accept their mistakes like Sanjay Dutt did. He said, "I would like to say one thing to both Bharti and Harsh. Once you guys come out, speak to your colleagues both young and old not to indulge in drugs. Look at Sanjay Dutt, he confessed to the world. What bigger example do you want? Accept your mistake and pledge to quit drugs. Nobody is going to come to give you a bouquet of flowers for this case."
Johnny Lever shared that drugs is a sign of weakness. He said,"I tell students not to indulge in drugs. Kyonki jail jaoge and jail is not a place for creative people like us. Taking drugs is a sign of weakness and it only spoils your health and your name. It affects your career also. We seniors and those who have confessed, need to counsel our juniors or else our industry will be doomed." He also shared a real-life incident and said, "I remember Kalyanji or Kalyanji Anandji fame found out that I drink. He told me, 'Johnny bhai sharab mat piyo...talent mein itna. nasha hai usse piyo'.
