He is extremely glad that he got a chance to play a grey character for the first time. Dheeraj Dhoopar has also emerged as one of the trendsetters in the industry when it comes to fashion. Here are excerpts from an interview...
You have had a great year with Kundali Bhagya and Naagin 5. What new facets did you explore as an actor?
It has been exciting! Shooting for Naagin 5 gave me an opportunity to showcase a new side to my acting. I got a chance to try something which I have always wanted to do, which is to play a grey shade character. Also, it involved a lot of action which gave my fans a chance to see me in a new unseen avatar.
People loved your chemistry with Hina Khan in Humko Tum Mil Gaye. Do we see more collaborations in the future?
I’m exploring all aspects to be honest. Music videos, OTT, films all are under my radar. And I’m really pleased to see the response I got for my video with Hina and about collaborating further, it’s all a matter of chance. It all depends on the makers.
TV actors work in gruelling schedules. How do you manage to take out time to polish your craft?
I feel all of us work subconsciously on our craft. Even if one is working and busy like hell, one can work on their craft. It is all in the head I feel. But it is necessary to keep evolving.
You are one of the most stylish male TV celebs. Do you feel there is immense pressure to look good 24x7?
As an actor, looking good at all times is very important. I’m very particular about my looks and extremely particular about my sense of fashion. And that is what my fans globally know me for. I get numerous requests from fans for hairdo and style tips. This is something I have always wanted to be.
A lot of actors are turning entrepreneurs. Do we see you launching a fashion label?
I’m not sure about a label but definitely a men’s styling blog. But can’t say, anything is possible!
How do you divide time between work and family?
I feel I have balanced it pretty well. Every year, we make plans to have a few family outings. We also always make it a point to visit our parents often. I have planned my schedule in such a way that my work and family life is balanced well. Other than this, Vinny (Arora) has been a very understanding wife. Being an actress herself she understands my work commitments.
