'#HitMeChallenge' is the new thing, which has taken social media by storm. Many people have taken up this challenge and now TV celebs like Shweta Tiwari, Sharad Malhotra, Debina Banerjee and Karanveer Mehra have participated, which however has received a mixed response from fans. Shweta posted the video and captioned it, "This was so much fun ALSO this is when someone says “I need to step out!!!” #hitmechallenge"
Netizens slammed the TV celebs for this video and claimed that it promotes domestic violence. While a user wrote "Funny but y mar peet do something constructive" the other person wrote, "Rhetorical for physical abuse - though intended for the virus... didn't like it". A user questioned them through her comment, "Why are we promoting domestic violence or violence at all?"
Recently celebs like Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar raised their concern over the rise of domestic violence during the lockdown phase. In a one-minute video clip titled ‘Lockdown On Domestic Violence’, many stars raised their voice as they said in the video, “During the lockdown there has been a sharp increase in the number of domestic violence cases. To all the men we say, now is the time to standup against this violence. To all the women we say, now is the time to stand up and break the silence. If you’re a witness to domestic violence in your home, please report. If you’re a witness to domestic violence in your neighbourhood, please report. If you’re a survivor of domestic violence, please report it. Let’s put a lockdown on domestic violence.”
