It’s been a while since rumours about TV actress Alisha Panwar stepping into Hina Khan's shoes to play the iconic character Komolika in the reboot of Kasautii Zindagii Kay have been doing the rounds. BollywoodLife was the first to report that Hina has signed Vikram Bhatt's upcoming movie, a women-centric drama, which resulted in her taking a break from Ekta Kapoor's show. While Hina has declared that she is just taking a break from the show and cannot be replaced by any actress, Alisha has also come out for the first time and spoken about the reports. "Nothing concrete has emerged so far. So, I’d rather keep quiet," the actress said while speaking to a portal.
The actress also revealed that she was quite young when the TV show beamed. "All the actors who have been part of this #1 show right from Season 1 have been very lucky. It is very good to work with Ekta Kapoor and her highly-talented Balaji Telefilms team. I was a kid when Season 1 reigned supreme, yet I remember it. All the hype around this very powerful brand is worth it, for the story is not only very grandly presented but also has a soul," the Ishq Mein Mar Jawan actress said.

Meanwhile, on her replacement, Hina said, "I have not quit the show. Of course, I will take a break post March for my films. I have heard rumours that I will be replaced in the show but when I asked the makers, they said they can’t think of replacing me. They will work on how to take the story forward. I feel lucky to be so loved and accepted by the audience in this new role. I have worked so hard on the character’s look and performance. I will be free in September and if I don’t have any other project in hand, then I would love to come back to the show."
Talking about her upcoming movie, Hina said, "Vikram is a wonderful narrator and a person. We had a long chat about the film and we were clear about what to expect. I love the concept of the film and even heard some of the music, which is mind blowing. And he is excited and keen about having me on board, which boosts my morale. I feel lucky to have got this film."
