In this lockdown time, the Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan is currently being aired on DD National twice a day. Fans are absolutely loving this re-run and are watching and following it religiously. The cast and crew of Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan have become quite active as well. Their videos and pictures are going viral on social media right almost every day.
A video of the actor who played Raavan in the TV series is going viral as you read this. In the video, you can see Arvind Tiwari who played Raavan turning emotional as he watched himself abducting Sita, Lord Ram's wife from the jungle. Talking about Ramayan, a couple of days ago, Shyam Sundar Kaalaani who played the role of Sugriv/ Vali in the series passed away. As per the reports, the actor was suffering from cancer and breathed his last in Kolkata. Arvind Tiwari had tweeted out grieving the loss of his friend. "Sad to know about demise of Mr. Shyam Sundar who played the role of Sugreev in Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan”... A very fine person and a gentleman. May his soul rest in peace. #Ramayana #Ramayan #RamayanOnDDNational," he had written in his tweet.
Apart from Arvind Tiwari, the show also starred Deepika Chikhalia as Sita, Arun Govil as Lord Ram, Sunil Lahri as Lakshman, Dara Singh as Hanuman, Sanjay Jog as Bharat, Sameer Rajda as Shtarughna, Bal Dhuri Dasharatha to name a few.
