Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi actress Smriti Khanna welcomed a cute little girl on 15 April 2020 with actor-beau Gautam Guppta. The actress has been on mommy duty and has been enjoying each and every moment of it. Smriti and Gautam have named their little one, Anayka. Recently, Smriti celebrated the 40th day of Anayka’s birth.
Revealing the deets about the same, Smriti Khanna told Spotboye, “The ceremony took place this morning. It's a 40th day ceremony. After this, the mother and baby can officially go out of the house. But that won’t happen in our scenario as yet.”
“The ceremony was attended by only family members- Gautam’s cousin sister came and no one else. I stay with my in-laws, so yes, in a way it seemed complete,” Smriti added.
Smriti revealed the reason and importance of the puja/ceremony saying, “A little aarti of the mother and daughter was performed and then we stepped out of the chaukhat. Phir humari nazar utaari, so that the baby and the mother stay safe when they go out. It’s believed that the mother’s body takes 40 days to recover after delivery and the baby’s immunity also builds in 40 days. Hence, they can go out after this puja.”
Earlier, Smriti Khanna opened up on losing weight post-pregnancy. “Yes, People abroad they do jogs, they do Zumba dance, they swim regularly. In India, I think there a lot of myths that the moment they realise somebody is pregnant they say you just eat and be on the bed which is not the right way of going about it. So, you have to be very active and you have to just eat nutritious food even if you were eating junk before and fat. People think that you eat fat, then the baby is going to be fat, but fat is not healthy. So baby is going to grow if you eat protein more and not fat. People really need to educate themselves and then they can really have a healthy and good pregnancy. Being active is the most important thing,” the Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi actress told BollywoodLife.com in an interview.
