Sumedh Mudgalkar has won hearts for his role as Lord Krishna in RadhaKrishn. He has a massive fan following and has been appreciated for his performance in the show. Sumedh Mudgalkar in an interview with ETimes, spoke about applying all the qualities of Lord Krishna in real life too. He said, "Whatever I emote on screen, I try to apply in my life also. I try to implement at least a few things because trying is the first step. The more I understood about Lord Krishna, the more curiosity it created inside me and I started learning things about him." He also shared that he had to wait for two and half years for the show to go on floors and had to sacrifice a lot that time. Sumedh said, "When you are heavily relying on something and you are taking a role very seriously, and it doesn't work out you feel disappointed. I had bought a house close to my show's set to stay so that I can concentrate on the character and be away from friends. The house had nothing, no television set and not even a wifi connection. It had only Shri Krishna's book and a flute."

"I did all this to have a better understanding of him who came 5000 years ago. I detached myself from my friends. But when the show did not work out everything fell flat. I have understood one thing that no matter how difficult things get, you should never give up and continue the hard work. I had a lot of time in hand before enacting the role. I read a lot of books and saw the shows and portrayal of other actors who have played the role of Lord Krishna earlier. I researched a lot and tried to understand how different each character was and how I will make my role different. I can never understand or know how Shri Krishna will think in a situation because he is multi-dimensional. But I made sure to understand every aspect of life and the journey of discovering lord Krishna has been an interesting one, "he added. He was also asked about being compared with Swapnil Joshi and Nitish Bharadwaj for playing Krishna. He said, "I would never compare myself to Swwapnil Joshi or Nitish Bharadwaj. I don’t think it would be right on my part. If someone is better than me, I can only learn from him and do my job better. I can take motivation from them but will never compare myself to anyone. I don’t believe that when you are going to play a part you are competing with anyone. People compare you with them and then competition is created. I never take it as a competition. For me it is always what I understand of the character and how I play it. I just focus on myself and try to become a better version of myself. I have taken inspiration from all of them and I added what I can do. I would never compare myself."

He also spoke about being linked up with his co-star Mallika Singh. Sumedh said, "I feel in personal life whatever you experience should be personal. It should be for myself. Like if I watch a film in personal life, it should be for myself. Mallika and I have understood that whatever we say, we do, people will continue to talk and that's how it is going to be. Now, we both have in fact started watching these videos on the internet and enjoying it. We think let's watch and see what is now being reported about us. Mallika is a very precious person in my life and is a good person at heart. I don't get affected by these rumours. In fact, even Basant Bhatt is very close to my heart."
