Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is not the first show of Munmun Dutta and Dilip Joshi together. They have worked together in another sitcom titled Hum Sab Baraati. The show is about a family that specialises in arranging weddings. Selecting the venue to entertain the guests is what the family does. The show aired in 2004 and Dilip Joshi played the role of Nathu Mehta and Munmun Dutta played Meethi. Recently, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah became Yahoo’s most searched show of 2020. It was a list of most searched shows and films. Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, Dil Bechara was at number three. Mahabharat is at the number two spot, and Ramayan at the number four spot.
Recently, when Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completed 3000 episodes, Dilip Joshi posted an emotional note. He wrote, "It all began with Taarak Bhai’s iconic characters from his ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chashma’ stories in Chitralekha. This cartoon is of the Jethalal I grew up with. Thank you, Taarak Bhai. You are dearly missed. Your smile has kept us going."
