Deepika Singh is best known as Sandhya Rathi from the show, Diya Aur Baati Hum. The actress has been loved by fans for years. Deepika Singh delivered her son, Soham in 2017. After the birth of her baby boy, Deepika Singh gained a bit of weight. It is normal for women to gain a few kilos due to the changes in the body. The actress, in a recent interview, revealed how she was subjected to severe trolling by people. This made her take up gymming and yoga to shed those extra pounds. She is not the only actress who has faced trolls for weight gain. We have seen how Mahhi Vij got a lot of flak from people.
Deepika Singh in a recent interview told ETimes, “I have been trolled a lot on social media especially for my weight gain. After giving birth to my son Soham I was 73 kgs and I had randomly shared a picture of mine without thinking much and it was my birthday, they started writing nasty stuff about me. They did not even think twice that it was my birthday. They started saying 'you are such a big actress, you should have waited', 'now you won't get any role', 'nobody will take her in a lead role', 'look at her how bad she is looking'." This proves how mean people can be to celebrities.
Post-pregnancy weight differs from woman to woman. It is the outcome of many factors. When we do not judge an ordinary woman after the birth of a child, why this extra pressure on female celebrities? If some people get inspired by female celebs who shed their post-pregnancy weight really fast, remember the word metabolism. And a woman has full autonomy over her body. She can decide when she wants to get back to a workout routine. And size does not matter when it comes to an artiste. In the West, people like Adele and Octavia Spencer are as celebrated as a Victoria Beckham. We hope this finally rests this case!
