I don't have any high expectation from Indian TV. Or should I say, I don't have any expectation from Indian TV. But I still follow them because they turn out to become fodder for our WTF Wednesday (sarcasm much intended). This time, the TV show in question is the popular (surely for our WTF Wednesday section) Kavach Mahashivratri. We sat down to watch the last episode on the weekend with satanic intentions. Gawd! what an episode. We surely left our brains aside while watching the show, however, the last two episodes were so ridiculous that after a point we forgot that it was a horror show!
The major problem with the episode was when one of the characters was stuck in his office and the AC's temperature turned minus 6 degree Celsius. Now we understand that the show is a paranormal one, but which AC can brings the temperature down to negative? If forced, any AC will perhaps explode and become non-functional! But we still managed to digest this. Furthermore, the writers ripped an iconic scene from the international film franchise The Ring. For those who have seen the movie, I don't even need to describe, just a small mention would suffice. Remember, when they could see the ghost from the TV screens?
Although, here in Kavach the writers did try adding a bit of novelty by changing the TV screen to a laptop screen. We facepalm-ed for real while watching it.
Also, the witch is an exact replica of the girl from The Ring, albeit not without a really weird CGI created long tresses. The funniest part is when the protagonist Namik Paul is helpless and begging for some mercy from the witch (no this is not the funny part yet). The guy actually goes on to say, "I beg you, please." Like really bro, the entire time the witch has been talking in Marathi and you are "begging" her for your wife's life?
Well if you want to trip on something without any external influences, Kavach Mahashivratri is a must watch!
