Good news for Karan Mehra fans! The actor, who is popularly known to play the role of Naitik Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is returning to the small screen. After dedicating seven and a half years to the daily show, Karan decided to move on. He quit Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai to focus on his health. Later, he appeared in the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan. The popular TV face was last seen in Khatmal-E-Ishq… Do Phool Ek Maa, which ended abruptly. Since then, Karan's fans have been eagerly waiting for the actor's return. And their wait is now over as Mehra is all set to feature in Shrenu Parikh and Zain Imam's programme, Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna.
Karan will play the role of a father in the show which was launched last week. After a hiatus of two years, Karan is back in the game again. Speaking more about his role in the show, Karan, who plays a father to two girls, told Times Of India, "There is a backstory to the plot and I appear in flashbacks. I will be required to shoot for two days in a month and I like that arrangement. Two days a month won’t hurt." Whatever be the case, we are sure Karan's fans are crying happy tears now.
The actor revealed he took a break from TV after the debacle of his last show because he wanted to be there with his wife and baby boy. When asked about the failure of Khatmal-E-Ishq… Do Phool Ek Maa, Karan said, "The show met with a premature ending because the channel was undergoing a transition. It should have run for a while to generate the expected ratings. In fact, my theatre debut was with a comedy, and I have received a standing ovation for my performance. People are taken aback to see that I have a comic side, too."
“You are shocked when a show ends abruptly, and introspect on the circumstances that led to it. But I learnt that ups and downs are a part of life. I believe in myself, hard work and honesty," he added. All's well that ends well, they say! Although the show's journey was short-lived, Karan won appreciation for his work and that is actually what matters for an actor.
