Legendary Tamil producer Saravanan Surya Mani, who was also called AVM Saravanan or M Saravanan, breathed his last in the early hours of December 4. The Kollywood filmmaker died at the age of 86 due to age-related health issues. He passed away a day after his birthday. Saravanan had garnered massive popularity for AVM Productions and AVM Studios, which was founded by his father.

MK Stalin pays last respects to AVM Saravanan

Saravanan was referred to as one of the pillars of Tamil cinema. He was born on on December 3, 1939. Saravanan's mortal remains will be kept for public homage will 3:30 PM on Thursday on AVM Studios' third floor. Fans, family and industry members will visit to pay their last respects. The moment the news of his demise was confirmed, fans took to social media to mourn the loss. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin visited the studios to meet the family.

Vishal MOURNS Saravanan's demise

Actor Vishal was quick to take to social media to mourn Saravanan’s demise. He posted, “Just heard the news that the legendary filmmaker avm Saravanan sir, the film industry’s most iconic producer and the man behind AVM studios just passed away and has left us all forever."

He recalled his meeting with him Saravanan as a kid and the contribution he made. “Sir, I remember meeting you as a kid, as an assistant director, as an actor, as a producer ever since I entered AVM studios which was a learning ground for me to be what I am today in the film industry.”

Vishal also explained how every producer in the Tamil film industry admired Saravanan. “I always wanted you and your production house to continue making great films but today we stand to lose another great film personality in Indian film industry. Your memories will always linger in our minds and your films will always be a learning ground for aspiring filmmakers. May God give more strength to his family at this toughest time. RIP,” the actor posted.
